Morning Routine for Women who Want to Be Productive

There are millions of articles online that tell you about the morning routine of successful women, but this is different. It would be easy to give you a list of what successful women do every morning and leave it right there but this post is meant to give you the best morning routine for women while making everything practical and easy for you to implement at home in order to attain success.

There are some major things that successful women pay attention to when they wake up every morning. These are mainly centered around self-care and planning.

Before we proceed, you may be wondering why morning routines are so important.

Why is a morning routine for women important?

Mornings set the tone for the day so the energy you start the day with every morning has a huge impact on your mood, vibe, productivity, and results. Therefore it is important to start your day on a good note with a morning routine that will help you physically, mentally and make you productive.

1. Wake up early

Highly successful women like Oprah Winfrey have constantly spoken about waking up early before the sun comes out. When you wake up early, you get time to do all the things in your morning routine that will improve your day.

If you wake up late, you cannot take full advantage of the calmness that the early hours of the morning comes with. Most importantly, you may end up being late for work and getting stressed. You must wake up early if you have a lot of things to do. 4:30 am-5:30 am is good timing.

How can you do this? First, sleep early, set an alarm or ask someone to wake you up at a specific time. Try this constantly and your body will adjust to waking up at that time of the day.

2. Make time for self care

Taking care of your body affects your entire being on many levels. It affects your confidence and how you feel about yourself. Most importantly, self-care is important to keep you healthy and clear-minded.

Whatever your self-care regimen is, make sure you practice self-care daily, especially in the morning. Cleanse your skin, wash or style your hair, wash down, moisturize and do all the other things that make you feel clean, confident and excited for the day. Remember, you must look good and feel good to have an amazing day.

2. Review the previous day

This is a major part of the morning routine of highly successful women. Because they want to have a productive day, they reflect on the previous day and review what worked and what didn’t work. When they do this, they understand and assess themselves.

Every morning, sit down, reflect on the previous day and review what you did right or wrong. Be honest with yourself on what caused the results you saw and what you can do better. Just like Oprah Winfrey says, think about the next right move.

4. They have breakfast

Taking breakfast is not common with everyone especially busy women, but it is vital to take a healthy breakfast before your day begins. Foods usually taken for breakfast are a great source of healthy nutrients such as iron, calcium, vitamins, and protein, which are great in boosting your energy for the day.

5. Exercise

While some people exercise to lose weight, you can exercise to keep fit, be healthy and pumped-up for the day.

You may be thinking, ‘I don’t have time to exercise in the morning’, and that is understandable. Going to the gym or lifting heavy weight to exercise every morning is not compulsory. If you can not do all those, engage in easy exercises like these 5 home workouts for busy women in 10 minutes.

6. They plan and visualize their day

This is one of the most important morning habits of successful women. They plan almost everything down to the clock. Based on a review of the previous day, they put pen to paper, strategize, set targets and visualize how they can achieve their goals and targets.

Whenever you wake up in the morning, make sure you reflect on the previous day, grab and notepad, write down the things you will do in the first hours of the morning, mid-day and evening, include what actions you need to take, whom you need to contact to achieve those goals and finally, allocate time for those tasks.

7. Make time for positive affirmations

The best thing that can get you mentally prepared and positive for the day is when you believe in yourself and say kind words to yourself. Make positive affirmations a major part of your morning routine and say empowering things to yourself. When you say things like, ‘I am beautiful, I am worth it and I am going to have a great day,’ it immediately sends positive signals to your brain and pumps you up for the day. 8. Start work early and do the toughest things first

Doing the most difficult things first helps you to get them out of the way in order to focus on other things . Usually in the mornings, your mind is clear and you can focus on work because there are less distractions compared to other times of the day.

9. Pray or meditate

If you believe in prayer or meditation, they must be a key part of your morning routine to help you connect with a higher being. Jack Dorsey, and Oprah Winfrey both meditate every morning.

Studies suggest that meditation can help ease psychological stresses like anxiety, depression, and pain. This can help you have a clear mind and start your day right.

10. They spread positive energy

The energy you give is the energy you get back. How would you feel if you made someone who was having a terrible morning smile? That feeling is great to help you spread and receive positive vibes in order to have a great day. So be kind and nice to the people you meet, especially at the start of your day because you do not know what they are going through.

11. They plan their money

This is absolutely important. Whether you budget for the week or month, checking your spending pattern and planning what you will spend money on must be a major part of your morning routine. This is easier than you imagine. Henceforth, make it a daily habit to budget. It helps you manage your money better.
