How to Lose Weight Fast- 10 Effective Tips

If you are trying to lose weight fast, you are not alone on this journey. You may have struggles with your health, confidence or even how you look in the clothes you wear (because of society’s perception of what a beautiful woman should look like these days).

Weight loss is a struggle for most people, therefore it is not surprising that one of the most searched keywords on the internet is how to lose weight fast.

These are 10 effective lifestyle adjustments you can make to ensure that you lose weight fast. Before we proceed, I want to share with you a brief experience of my weight loss journey.

 

My Story

Let’s start with a little story. A couple of months ago, I lost a lot of weight. I was not plus size or chubby, but I looked fat. Out of nowhere, I lost a lot of weight (I say out of nowhere because it was not intentional). I did not commit months to work out in the gym or days starving on a diet I did not want to be on. I like to call my weight loss the outcome of a change in lifestyle.

The hard part was that, people kept asking me about the secret to my weight loss. I got frustrated whenever people looked at me and said they suspected I was on a slimming course. I got tired of trying to explain to them (especially my family) that I WAS NOT ON A SLIMMING COURSE.

For a long time, I was trying to defend it; but I realized that losing weight the way I did was not bad after all. Since I lost weight unexpectedly within a short period, I have decided to share with you the exact actions that led to my weight loss and how you can also lose weight fast in a healthy manner.

Confession: I am not big on constantly checking my weight on a weighing scale, so I cannot tell you exactly how much weight I lost; but if it is enough to get everyone talking and get my pants falling off, then it is significant.
I will also toss in some helpful tips outside what I implemented that can help you lose weight fast.

 

What does it mean to lose weight fast?

Losing weight fast is subjective. This depends on your weight, your body type and the results you desire within a specified period. Losing weight fast to me could mean losing weight in two weeks or a month; losing weight fast to you could mean just within a week or three days.

Thanks for patiently hanging on. Let’s get into the real deal. These are 10 effective lifestyle changes you can implement that will help you lose weight fast. 😊

10 Effective Way to Lose Weight Fast

1.  3-Day Fruit Fast

One of the best practices that helped me lose weight was a three-day fruit detox. For three days, all I ate was fruits. I drank plenty of water too. You can find out more on the three-day fruit fast here.

 

2.  Drink lemon infused water every morning

Squeeze fresh lemons in a cup of warm water and drink first thing every morning. Lemon has detoxifying benefits and is low in calories compared to other beverages. It helps to cleanse your system, aids in digestion, helps to maintain your metabolism and keep you hydrated.

Lemon water does not only go a long way to help in your weight loss journey; it is a refreshing beverage that can help you start your day on a refreshing note. There have been different perspectives on whether this works, but I am certain that it contributed to the way my body responded to weight loss. Drinking lemon infused water every morning alongside other weight loss efforts will yield results.

 

3.  Exercise every morning

Exercising is one of the best ways you can burn fat and lose weight fast.

The question is, how long must you exercise to lose weight fast?

It depends on your body type but one thing will get you there as quickly as possible: consistency. In exercising to lose weight fast, you must be consistent. You do not necessarily have to go to the gym to keep up. If you can not afford to join a gym, try this easy step-by-step home workout for beginners.
Note: Having adequate sleep is important too. It will help to make you energetic enough to work out every morning.

 

4.  Eat Clean

Maybe you know this already but there is a correlation between the food you eat and how your body process and stores it. If you can afford to seek help from a dietician or a nutritionist, go for it. If you are not able to do so, there is a rule of thumb: EAT CLEAN.

What does eating clean mean? Eat more fruits and vegetables, cut down on carbohydrates, starchy and greasy foods and eat more fat burning foods. Simply, ELIMINATE JUNK.

You can try a ketogenic diet and stick to it. It is important that you focus on meals that keep you healthy.

5.  Reduce your cravings

Isn’t this hard for us all? How do you reduce your cravings for the things that cost you a lot of your weight loss efforts? Just like all other humans, we crave the things that we feel have been taken away from us. The trick to reducing your cravings and avoid sabotaging your weight loss efforts is to set days aside to reward yourself by satisfying your cravings, but be mindful not to over-indulge.

 

6.  De-stress

There is a correlation between being stressed and the lifestyle choices that can lead you to gain weight. For example, when you are stressed, you could engage in stress-eating.
Stress eating can be a hindrance if you want to lose weight fast. In order not to worsen your case, try to de-stress.

I know it is hard to stop thinking about how your weight loss efforts are not paying off and how you wish you could lose weight fast like the person next door,  but if you keep worrying and engaging in actions that keep you stressed, you may not be able to focus on the changes and habits that can help you lose weight as quickly as you desire.

 

7.  Cut down sugars

In simple terms, if excess sugar is not used as energy in the body, the sugar gets stored in fat cells. If you want to lose weight, it is important to cut down your sugar consumption. Sugar can be masked in various forms including snacks such as chocolates, cookies, cereals, cakes and biscuit. Cut down on coffee and other fizzy drinks. Eating too much sugar will not help you lose weight.

You can eat alternative sugars. Just like me, most people believe that honey is a better alternative. Even though honey is sweeter than sugar, it is true that it is a healthier alternative. However, do not be tempted to use too much honey because it also contains some calories.

 

8.  Drink lots of water

Drinking lots of water is a simple secret to helping you with weight loss. Quite apart from drinking a lot of water during the day, it is important to drink water about 30 minutes before meals. Apart from the fact that it is a natural diuretic, drinking water 30 minutes before meals can give you a feeling of satiety and make you eat small portions of food.
This trick works for me almost all the time.

9.  Join a weight loss program

Weight loss programs do work! I personally have not signed up or purchased a weight loss program because I do not need to (my weight loss was not planned, remember?) but I am convinced now more than ever that weight loss programs do work. I’ll tell you why in a bit.

Weight loss meal plans, for example, can help you regulate your diet effectively and lose weight fast. When I was writing this post, I searched for an effective weight loss diet plan from weight loss experts; I wanted one which works.

I found this diet plan which you can check out. It has amazing reviews and high recommendations, so you may want to check it out. Like I said before, I haven’t been on the plan personally but I am recommending it because I researched and found that it is amazing.

They are the only diet delivery company founded by a weight loss expert and they provide nutritional requirements for healthy and long-term weight loss.
There are a ton of effective diet plans for weight loss. Find a good one and speak to your dietician for advice.

 

10.  Never Give up

The most difficult thing about the weight loss journey is waiting to see results. Constantly standing on the weighing scale, looking in the mirror all the time and listening to people to see if your efforts are yielding any results can be hard. I understand that it can get depressing but I encourage you not to give up.
The challenge for most people in their weight loss journey is that they are unable to keep on until they see results; they give up even before they see results. Like I said, trying to lose weight fast can be determined by a lot of factors including the timelines you set for yourself and how committed you are.

 

Conclusion

There is no hard and fast rule to losing weight. No need to take random weight loss pills or hurt yourself with things that do not work. To lose weight fast, check your lifestyle and adjust appropriately.
Try a three-day fruit fast, drink lemon infused water every morning, exercise regularly, eat clean, reduce your cravings, de-stress, cut down your sugar intake, drink more water and join a healthy diet plan like this one. Most importantly, never ever give up.
