If you want to get clear skin naturally, this 3-Day Fruit Fast goes beyond cleansing your system to giving your skin a beautiful glow.
When your skin breaths, looks and feels good, it increases your confidence and has a positive impact on your health and general well-being.
I tried this 3- Day Fruit Fast and I saw amazing results on my skin, so I want to share my journey with you, to help you transform your skin in three days. Even if a fruit fast is not for you, in the end, you will appreciate the relationship between what you eat and the look of your skin.
Before the fruit fast
Prior to my fruit fast, I had read about 1 week, 10 and 20-day fruit fasts all over the internet but it took me just 3 days to see great results.
My main motive was to detox and flush out toxins from my body, and not necessarily because I wanted to transform my skin (even though I knew it was a side benefit).
Preparation
I was a bit hesitant to proceed, so it took me a couple of days to prepare myself mentally for the task because it was my first time (just as this may be your first). However, thinking about the benefits I would derive from the process urged me on.
I relied on three main fruits; pawpaw, mango and banana. You can decide to go with any fruits of your choice (you can also make them into fresh juice if you prefer).
DAY 1
On the first morning, I ate diced pawpaw and mangoes for breakfast and packed some for lunch. Mangoes and pawpaw are a good choice because they are sweet, juicy and contain vitamins and minerals which kept me nourished and hydrated.
Lunch was similar, with more fruits on my table. I had mangoes, pawpaw and banana. To keep me feeling full and hydrated, I drank lots of water.
How did I feel? Knowing I was pursuing a goal to detox my body was the best feeling ever.
When it was time for dinner, I was beginning to get tired of the fruits already, so I just took a few slices of pawpaw and mangoes.
DAY 2
This was the most difficult of my three-day journey and I almost gave up. Like the previous day, I ate some fruits in the morning and was fine.
At lunch time, craving for solid food kicked in and I started feeling weak, but that was expected. Honestly, it felt like a self-imposed punishment at this point, but I soldiered on with more fruits and a lot more water. I felt better in the evening when the weather cooled down.
Now let’s talk about how I felt. I wasn’t very energetic, but I felt lighter and refreshed. The changes in my entire body were slowly becoming obvious in the way I felt. I felt lighter and my skin began to look and feel good (at this point I thought my mind was playing tricks on me). The changes I was beginning to see plus the fact that I had just one more day to go kept me going.
DAY 3
It was the final day of my fruit fast and the clock ticked slowly. I was hydrated because I drunk lots of water, so my skin was working just fine. But I still felt very light. Even though I did not make time to check my weight, I knew I had lost some weight within those three days.
Though I still felt a bit weak, it was the last day of the fast and I could not afford to give up at that point.
My skin was beginning to show changes and I started feeling like the pores on my face especially, were getting unclogged. Colleagues at work at this point started asking me whether I had started using a new skin product. The compliments amazed me, and I giggled with each one of them.
SKIN GLOW
I did it! Day 3 passed quickly, and I felt so good about myself. What’s more? I felt very confident. My skin felt cleaner, clearer and refreshed (but not without regular cleaning, haha!)
I am not the regular ‘heavy make-up’ kind of girl but my face looked completely stunning with just lipstick and eyebrows done after the fruit fast. The change on my skin was very evident and I am glad I went ahead with the fast.
Impact of what you eat on your skin
Research has shown that your diet affects your skin health, and it was after my fruit fast that I understood this relationship.
WebMD, a medical website cited Marmur, a professor of dermatology at Mt. Sinai Hospital, to have explained that there are hundreds of steps involved in the cycle of skin renewal, of which the foods you eat are components. The body, skin included, is constantly under construction. And it uses vitamins and nutrients from food to repair and rebuild.
This proves how important it is to cleanse your system once a while by having a detox. If a fruit fast is just not for you, there are tons of ways you can detox, cleanse your system and enjoy the benefits that brings to your skin.
What Next?
Even though our bodies work differently, a fruit fast will never leave you feeling the same. It worked for me and could work for you too.
Do not force yourself if you have some health complications or feel this might harm you. You can speak to a health professional if you are not sure a fruit fast is good for you.
Get any fruit of your choice, toss it in your plate for three days and your skin will transform than you ever imagined it would.
